Sample Custom Leadership Programs

1. Women Leadership: Leading Differently with Courage and Strategy

What are the unique challenges and opportunities facing women leaders?  Why is there still a small percentage of female senior executives in Fortune 500 companies?  Recent McKinsey research has shown that companies gain significant economic benefits when they help talented women develop and advance in their careers.  This workshop is designed to help you 1) discover the unconscious self-limiting beliefs that are holding most women back from rising to a senior leadership level, 2) learn the best practices in work-life integration, and 3) create a strategic network of women leaders to accelerate your leadership growth.

In the workshop, you will:

  • Identify and think strategically about the challenges facing women leaders

  • Learn new strategies to better integrate your work and life

  • Increase awareness of your leadership strengths and areas of improvement through team based activities, psychological assessments, and peer debriefing

  • Create an action plan to broaden your spheres of influence and increase your leadership effectiveness

You will walk away with the skills to:

  • Articulate a vision of yourself as a leader in your life and your organization

  • Reframe challenges specific to women leaders and identify new opportunities for career advancement

  • Build a supportive network of women leaders

2. Improv for Leadership Presence and Organizational Ambidexterity: Getting Team Members to “Yes, and …”

How can improv be used to develop leadership agility and build teams?   Increasing corporate teams have leveraged improv training for leadership communication and team building.   Improv can help leaders enhance their presence and mindfulness and enable teams to build trust, foster collaboration, and embrace change and ambiguity.  Wharton Business School professors have found that the successful use of humor helps increase leaders’ effectiveness.  This workshop integrates the principles of improvisation to create an engaging experiential learning environment.  You will learn to move out of your comfort zones, acquire new behaviors and perspectives, and feel more confident in leading and working with teams.  You will discover your leadership potential and begin to see yourself as performers and creators of social relationships that support your leadership development.

In the workshop, you will:

  • Engage in a series of improv exercises such as “follow the follower” to practice core leadership skills - active listening, empathy, learning agility, and resiliency

  • Apply the improv principle “Yes, and” to improve team performance

  • Learn how to leverage support from peers to handle mistakes and setbacks

  • Identify personal leadership styles and preferences

  • Cultivate a passion for developing your leadership capacities

You will walk away with the skills to:

  • Communicate your leadership visions and goals with clarity and precision

  • Increase your presence and mindfulness of leadership capacities

  • Develop flexible approaches to working with and supporting diverse teams

  • Build a team with an attitude of “Yes”
